Jaguars Fall on the Road to Texas A&M–Texarkana

Texarkana, TX- Texas A&M–San Antonio came up short on the road Thursday night, falling 76–62 to Texas A&M–Texarkana in Red River Athletic Conference men's basketball action.

The Jaguars trailed by just two at halftime, 36–34, but the Eagles pulled away in the second half by outscoring A&M–San Antonio 40–28 to secure the win.

Antwone Gonzales led all scorers for the Jaguars, finishing with 22 points while adding four rebounds and one assist in a team-high 32 minutes. Gonzales was aggressive offensively throughout the night, getting to the free-throw line frequently and keeping A&M–San Antonio within striking distance.

Dezmon Dudley turned in a strong all-around performance with 13 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and a block in 31 minutes of action. Dudley's activity on the glass helped the Jaguars stay competitive early.

Filip Radulovic chipped in six points and three rebounds, while Felix Greif added four points and four rebounds off the bench. Rick Vandenheever contributed four points in nine minutes, and Blake Petty finished with three points, two rebounds, and two steals.

A&M–San Antonio battled on the boards, with Fotis Hristopoulos pulling down seven rebounds, and Gabriel Til collecting four rebounds in reserve minutes.

Despite the strong individual efforts, the Jaguars struggled to keep pace in the second half as Texarkana capitalized on offensive runs and limited A&M–San Antonio's scoring opportunities.

The Jaguars drop to 4–13 overall and 3–8 in conference play, while Texas A&M–Texarkana improves to 10–6 overall and 7–4 in the RRAC.

A&M–San Antonio will look to bounce back as conference play continues this weekend.
