Jaguars pull away late to defeat NAU, 79–63

Houston, TX- Texas A&M University–San Antonio used a strong start and a decisive fourth quarter to secure a 79–63 victory over North American University on Friday, continuing its solid run of play in front of the home crowd.

The Jaguars set the tone early, jumping out to a 25–18 lead after the first quarter behind an aggressive offensive attack and steady defensive pressure. A&M–San Antonio tightened things up defensively in the second quarter, holding NAU to just nine points to take a commanding 42–27 advantage into halftime.

North American attempted to chip away at the deficit coming out of the break, outscoring the Jaguars 15–16 in the third quarter, but A&M–San Antonio responded with its best offensive stretch of the night in the final period. The Jaguars poured in 21 points in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach and secure the 16-point win.

A&M–San Antonio's balanced scoring effort and defensive discipline proved to be the difference, as the Jaguars consistently disrupted NAU's rhythm and capitalized on scoring opportunities in transition. The Jaguar's Evelyn Lorenzo led the team with 18 points while Kierra Sandlerin had a breakout game finishing with 17 points.

With the win, the Jaguars continue to build momentum as they progress through the season, showcasing depth and composure on both ends of the floor.
