The Jaguars outscored the Rams 23–17 in the final period, closing the game on a decisive run to move to 1–0 on the season.

The Jaguars' defensive pressure proved to be the difference, forcing 23 Texas Wesleyan turnovers that were converted into 27 points—a game-changing advantage in a tightly contested matchup that included six ties.
