Bio

Javier Tovar serves as the assistant softball coach, bringing over 26 years of coaching  experience to the Jaguars program. Now in his sixth season, Tovar supports all aspects of  the team’s operations, including player development, practice planning, game scheduling,  travel coordination, and fundraising. He also plays a key role in academic monitoring and  off-field support to ensure student-athlete success. Before joining A&M-San Antonio, he  served as an assistant coach at Coastal Bend College from 2019 to 2020 and spent nearly  two decades as a coach and recruiter for the nationally recognized Bomber Organization.  During his time at A&M-San Antonio, the softball program has earned four consecutive  conference tournament appearances, one regional tournament appearance, and  produced 14 all-conference and six all-region athletes.
