Jaguars Softball Caps Breakthrough 2026 Season with Strong Showing in RRAC Tournament
San Antonio, TX- The Texas A&M University–San Antonio softball team closed the 2026 season with one of the most successful campaigns in program history, highlighted by a winning record, multiple All-Conference selections, and a competitive run in the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Championship.
The Jaguars finished 26–18 overall and 17–10 in conference play, solidifying themselves as one of the rising programs in the RRAC. Their season culminated in a strong 2–2 performance in the conference tournament, where they battled through a double-elimination bracket against the league's top teams.
From opening day, the Jaguars established themselves as a competitive force, building momentum early and carrying it through conference play.
Offensively, A&M–San Antonio emerged as one of the most productive teams in the conference, finishing the season with:
- 279 runs scored
- 402 hits
- A .338 team batting average
The Jaguars' balanced attack and aggressive baserunning made them difficult to defend throughout the season.
That success was reflected in postseason recognition across multiple levels. The Jaguars placed several players on the RRAC All-Conference teams, led by Kaylee Barlow, who earned First Team All-Conference honors in the outfield.
Joining her at the top level was Samara Aguilera, who earned First Team All-Conference recognition as an at-large selection, highlighting her consistent offensive production and leadership.
In addition, sophomore standout Krisilyn Corral was named to the All-Conference Second Team, recognizing her impact both in the circle and as a key contributor throughout the season.
Rounding out the Jaguars' honorees, Krissy Luera earned Honorable Mention All-Conference recognition, further underscoring the depth of talent and contributions across the roster.
The Jaguars' 17–10 conference record earned them the No. 5 seed in the RRAC Tournament. Their consistent play throughout the regular season positioned them well for postseason competition against some of the conference's elite programs.
In the conference championship, the Jaguars showcased resilience and poise in a series of tightly contested games:
- Opening Round:
A&M–San Antonio opened with a 9–3 win over Texas A&M–Victoria, advancing in the winner's bracket. - Winner's Bracket Matchup:
The Jaguars fell in a close 7–6 contest to top-seeded LSU-Alexandria. - Elimination Bracket Response:
They bounced back with a 7–6 victory over Louisiana Christian, keeping their championship hopes alive. - Final Game:
The season ended in another narrow game, a 4–3 loss to Texas A&M–Texarkana.
In total, three of the Jaguars' four tournament games were decided by just one run, underscoring their competitiveness on the conference stage.
A&M–San Antonio's top performers continued to shine in the postseason, as Samara Aguilera and Krisilyn Corral were named to the RRAC All-Tournament Team.
Combined with the program's All-Conference honors—including a First Team, Second Team, and Honorable Mention selection—the Jaguars demonstrated both top-end talent and roster depth throughout the season.
The 2026 campaign featured several memorable highlights:
- A dramatic walk-off comeback victory after overcoming a large deficit against Texas Wesleyan University
- Multiple run-rule wins showcasing offensive explosiveness

The season also included a major milestone for the program, as head coach Nicole Dame recorded her 200th career victory, further solidifying the program's foundation.
With representation across all levels of the All-Conference honors—First Team (Barlow, Aguilera), Second Team (Corral), and Honorable Mention (Luera)—the Jaguars demonstrated that their success is built on both elite performers and overall roster strength.
