Jaguars Secure Conference Series Victory Over Xavier

San Antonio, TX- The Texas A&M–San Antonio softball team captured a Red River Athletic Conference series win over Xavier University of Louisiana this weekend, rebounding from an opening-game setback to take the final two contests behind dominant pitching and timely offense.

The Jaguars finished the three-game set with a 2–1 series win, improving their conference record and continuing their push up the RRAC standings.

Game One: Xavier Edges Jaguars in Tight Opener

Friday's series opener was a tightly contested matchup that saw Xavier escape with a 3–2 victory. Texas A&M–San Antonio struck first with two runs in the bottom of the first inning, but Xavier responded with a three-run third that would prove decisive.

The Jaguars outhit Xavier, 7–6, and threatened late, but were unable to capitalize on scoring opportunities. Despite a solid effort in the circle, TAMUSA could not reclaim the lead after the decisive third inning.

Game Two: Jaguars Bounce Back With Shutout

Texas A&M–San Antonio responded emphatically in the second game of Friday's doubleheader, shutting out Xavier, 6–0, to even the series.

Sophomore Krisilyn Corral delivered a complete-game performance, allowing just two hits while controlling the game from start to finish. The Jaguars provided steady run support, scoring in multiple innings and finishing with nine hits.

Strong defense and clean execution kept Xavier off the scoreboard and swung momentum firmly in TAMUSA's favor heading into the series finale.

Game Three: Early Runs Fuel Series-Clinching Win

The Jaguars carried that momentum into Saturday's finale (Senior Day), scoring five runs over the first three innings to secure a 7–2 victory and clinch the series.

Corral once again set the tone in the circle, earning her second win of the series with another complete game. Xavier broke through with two runs in the fifth inning, but A&M-San Antonio's early offensive surge proved too much to overcome.

Texas A&M–San Antonio finished the game with 10 hits and steady defensive play, committing just one error and limiting Xavier to three hits across seven innings.

Looking Ahead

With the series victory, the Jaguars continued to build confidence in conference play, leaning on reliable pitching depth and consistent offensive production. Texas A&M–San Antonio will hit the road this next weekend for a Red River Athletic Conference series against University of the Southwest in Hobbs, New Mexico, as the Jaguars look to carry their momentum into another key conference matchup.
