Corral Garners RRAC Pitcher of the Week Honors

Waco, TX- The second RRAC Softball Players of the Week awards go to (13) LSU Alexandria's Haley Fontenot for offense and Texas A&M University-San Antonio's Krisilyn Corral for defense for the week of Jan. 26-Feb. 1.

Sophomore pitcher Krisilyn Corral was dominant as a starter and reliever this weekend, carrying the Jaguars to a 2-0 start. She pitched five innings, allowing four hits, while striking out seven in her team's 8-0 win over Oklahoma Panhandle State. She pitched in relief for two innings, earning the 4-3 win, while striking out four, allowing no hits or runs.

Corral is playing in her first season with TAMUSA. She is a native of El Paso, Texas.

TAMUSA finished fifth last season. The Jaguars made it to the semifinals and lost to LSUA, ending their season with a 24-27 overall record and a 14-14 mark in the RRAC. They are currently 2-0.
