Jaguars Settle for Draw After Late Equalizer Against North American

San Antonio, TX- Texas A&M–San Antonio men's soccer team battled to a 1–1 draw with North American University on Saturday afternoon at Silo Field, as a late goal from the visitors denied the Jaguars a Senior Day victory.

After a scoreless first half that featured several strong saves from both goalkeepers, the Jaguars finally broke through in the 86th minute. Ronald Aguilar set up David Torres, who buried a finish into the back of the net for his fourth goal of the season.

North American, however, responded just three minutes later. Alejandro Perez converted in the 89th minute off an assist from Wilman Landaverde, knotting the match at 1–1 and silencing the home crowd.

A&M–San Antonio (9-3-2, 6-3-1 RRAC) held a slim 23–22 edge in total shots and put 11 on target. The Jaguars' defense and goalkeeper rotation of Dominic Peña and Marco Matranga combined for eight saves. Peña kept a first-half clean sheet with seven stops, while Matranga handled the second half, making four saves and conceding only once.

Clever Sibomana and Aguilar led the Jaguars' attack, combining for eight total shots and setting up the team's lone goal. Oscar Hernandez added three shots on goal, keeping pressure on North American's keeper Gino Burioni, who finished with 10 saves.

The physical match featured eight yellow cards—four for each side—as emotions ran high late in the contest.

Texas A&M–San Antonio will close its regular season next week with a road trip before preparing for the RRAC Tournament.
