Aguirre, Hernandez Lead Texas A&M–San Antonio to 7–0 Rout Over Southwest

Hobbs, NM- A&M–San Antonio delivered a dominant performance on the road Saturday afternoon, overwhelming the University of the Southwest 7–0 in Red River Athletic Conference play. The Jaguars' high-powered offense struck early and often, led by Ronald Aguilar and Oscar Hernandez, who each recorded hat tricks in the runaway victory. With the win, TAMUSA improved to 8–3–1 overall (5–3–0 RRAC), while Southwest fell to 2–6–3 (1–4–2 RRAC).

Christian Guerrero opened the scoring in the 17th minute, curling in a shot to put the Jaguars on the board. From there, Aguilar took over, scoring three times before halftime. His first goal came in the 39th minute off assists from Nicholas Beach and Joshua Olivares, followed by a strike at 42:46 and a third just before the break at the 45-minute mark, again set up by Olivares. TAMUSA went into halftime with a commanding 4–0 lead, outshooting the Mustangs 8–5 in the opening 45 minutes.

The Jaguars showed no signs of slowing down after the break. Hernandez found the net in the 48th minute, then scored again at 63:44 and 78:27 to complete his hat trick. Each finish showcased TAMUSA's crisp passing and relentless pressure in the attacking third. Goalkeeper Dominic Peña anchored the defense, stopping the only two shots on goal he faced and preserving his clean sheet. Peña also denied Yahir Chacon on a penalty kick early in the second half to keep the shutout intact.
