Men's Golf Finishes 3rd at RRAC Tournament
San Antonio, TX- Men's golf wrapped up their season this past week with a third-place team finish in the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) golf tournament. The finish was a hard fought one within one of the more competitive RRAC golf tournaments in recent memory.
Head Coach Christi Cano commented, "I'm proud of our finish. To grind back and catch Rocky Mountain for 3rd place was nice to see. We've had a few inconsistent tournament finishes this season, and we have worked on closing out our final rounds better. It was great to see some progress on the final round and watch senior Jordan Hardin close out his career with a birdie on his last hole and shoot his lowest round ever at Victoria Country Club."
Jacob Pena, who led the team in play for much of the season and his career, was able to secure a 5th place finish, which put him on the all-tournament team. "Jacob Pena continued his consistent play all season, made all-tournament team finishing in Top 5, and he also made the RRAC All-Conference Team."
This season's team was made up of three seniors that played quite a bit of golf for the Jaguars. They will be missed, but Coach Cano is excited about the foundation they helped lay. "Losing three seniors this semester is tough, but they have laid some positive groundwork for future Jaguar's that follow. It was a solid way to finish the season to build on heading into next year!"
