Jaguars Lose Heartbreaker To LCU
San Antonio, TX- Texas A&M University–San Antonio suffered a heartbreaking 78–76 loss to Louisiana Christian University on Thursday night after surrendering a last-second three-pointer, despite holding a one-point lead moments earlier.
The Jaguars controlled much of the game and took a 40–36 advantage into halftime. A&M–San Antonio continued to answer every LCU run in the second half, building a lead that held late into the final minute.
With the Jaguars up 76–75 and the clock winding down, Louisiana Christian called a timeout to set up its final possession. Out of the break, Drew Tebbe delivered the decisive blow, knocking down a three-pointer at the buzzer. Bryce Weinmunson assisted on the play, giving the Wildcats a two-point win.
Both teams scored 36 points in the second half, but LCU's final possession proved to be the difference.
Despite the outcome, the Jaguars showed poise and competitiveness throughout the game, demonstrating their ability to battle in tight games. A&M–San Antonio will look to regroup and convert late-game opportunities into victories as the season continues.
