Jaguars Fall at Xavier (La.), 75–66
New Orleans, LA- Texas A&M University–San Antonio could not overcome a strong first half from Xavier (La.) on Friday night, as the Jaguars dropped a 75–66 road decision in Red River Athletic Conference action.
The Gold Rush jumped out to a 42–32 advantage at the break, using an efficient offensive performance in the opening 20 minutes to build a double-digit cushion. A&M–San Antonio battled throughout the second half and trimmed the deficit on multiple occasions, but Xavier held firm down the stretch to secure the win.
The Jaguars were more settled offensively after halftime, outscoring Xavier 34–33 in the second half, but the early hole proved too much to erase. A&M–San Antonio continued to compete on both ends, showing resilience as the game slowed in the final minutes.
Despite the loss, the Jaguars displayed improved execution after the break and kept pressure on the home team until the final horn. The defeat moves A&M–San Antonio to 4–9 overall and 3–4 in conference play.
