Jaguars Fall to Crosstown Foe Our Lady of the Lake, 85–51

San Antonio, TX- Texas A&M–San Antonio struggled to find rhythm on Friday night as the Jaguars fell 85–51 to crosstown foe Our Lady of the Lake University at the OLLU Campus Gym. The loss drops the Jaguars to 0–1 in RRAC play, while OLLU improves to 1–0 behind a strong two-way performance.

OLLU jumped out quickly, using early defensive pressure and transition scoring to seize control. The Saints forced 14 first-half turnovers and turned them into 18 fast-break points, building a 38–22 halftime lead. Their defensive presence continued throughout the night, finishing with 14 steals and 8 blocks.

The Jaguars battled on the glass, outrebounding OLLU 48–49 in a tightly contested rebounding matchup, but the offense never fully clicked. A&M–San Antonio shot 23.4% from the field (15–64) and 23.8% from three (5–21) while committing 29 turnovers that OLLU converted into 28 points.

Josean Dembo provided a bright spot for the Jaguars with a team-high 16 points, shooting 5–10 from the field and 3–5 from beyond the arc. Felix Greif added 8 points and 5 rebounds, while Blake Petty and Xzavier Brown each pulled down 7 rebounds to help keep the Jaguars competitive on the boards.

Despite the loss, the Jaguars found defensive energy throughout the game, tallying 10 steals and 4 blocks, highlighted by Joseph Taylor's three steals and Brown's two blocks.

OLLU was led by a balanced scoring attack, including 14 points from Jaydin Morin-Bishop and 12 from Barack Holland. The Saints shot 40% from the field and hit 11 three-pointers, including nine in the second half to pull away.

A&M–San Antonio continued to compete until the final whistle, scoring 29 points in the second half, but OLLU's offensive efficiency and transition play proved too much to overcome.
