Bio

Stephen Sherman most recently served as Assistant Athletic Director and Head Cross  Country and Track and Field Coach at Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU). Originally  from Dickinson, Texas, Sherman launched OLLU’s cross country program in 2009 and  track and field program in 2015 before being named Assistant Athletic Director in 2019. During his tenure, Sherman led his teams to a combined 11 Red River Athletic Conference  (RRAC) Championships and earned Conference Coach of the Year honors 10 times. He  coached 167 individual All-Conference selections and guided student-athletes to  significant academic success, including 66 RRAC Scholar-Athlete awards, eight NAIA  Scholar-Athlete honors, one CoSIDA Academic All-American recognition and six NAIA  Scholar-Athlete Team awards. In his administrative role, Sherman managed budgets and  end-of-year reporting, served as the NAIA Champions of Character Liaison, coordinated  game day operations and assisted in developing new athletic programs. He also served as  RRAC sport chair for cross country and track and field and was a member of the RRAC and  NAIA cross country ratings committees. Sherman earned a bachelor’s degree in History 

and Political Science from McMurry University and a master’s degree in Organizational and  Human Resources Management from Abilene Christian University.
