Bio

Chris Minner was named as the inaugural women’s head basketball coach at Texas A&M  University–San Antonio in January 2024 to help spearhead the new program. A veteran with  over 20 years of coaching experience across National Collegiate Athletic Association  Division I and II, National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), and junior college  levels, Minner brings a proven record of building competitive, winning programs. In his first  season with the Jaguars, he led the team to an 18–12 overall record and a 14–10 finish in  Red River Athletic Conference play, reaching the conference tournament semifinals.  Minner was previously head coach at Texas A&M–Texarkana, Midway University, and Our  Lady of the Lake University. At Midway, he guided the program to historic back-to-back  NAIA national tournament appearances. His career also includes assistant coaching at the  University of North Texas (D1) and Texas A&M International (D2), with early roots in  California at Napa Valley College and Vacaville Christian High School. Minner holds  degrees from Sonoma State University (BA), Saint Mary’s College of California (MS), and  Our Lady of the Lake University (MBA). He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in leadership  studies at the University of the Cumberlands.
